In a major action, the Enforcement Directorate team on Friday seized the land of Jaunpur MP Babu Singh Kushwaha in Lucknow. The land located in front of Scooter India on Kanpur Road is worth crores. The ED team also brought a bulldozer and razed the illegal construction on the land to the ground.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized on Wednesday, July 24, that a significant portion of the budget is allocated to upgrading Indian Railways, making it a key focus area for the government. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday presented the Union Budget for FY 24-25 with some major announcements for states like Andhra Pradesh and Bihar. After the budget, Nitish Kumar made his first reaction by praising the monetary aid announced for the state. Reacting on the budget, he said, "I have continuously spoken for this (special status), I told them as well (NDA). I told them to give us either a special status or a special package...As a follow-up, they have announced aid for a lot of things...We were speaking of special status and a lot of people said that the provision for special status has been done away with much earlier. So, instead of that, aid should be given for helping Bihar. They have now started it."
Ahead of the union budget, Bihar has suffered a major setback as Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary on Monday made it clear that the state will not get special status. His remarks came as a written reply to Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Ramprit t Mandal's demand for special status. Mandal asked the minister to give details if Bihar is to get special status or else provide the reason.

In the video the son of the man alleged that his father was stopped by security at the Bengaluru mall and denied entry because he was wearing 'dhoti'. The incident reportedly happened on Tuesday.

Oman mosque shooting: Nine people were killed, including three attackers, in an assault on a Shi'ite Muslim mosque in Oman late on Monday, authorities said, in a rare breach of security in one of the most stable countries in the Middle East. Four Pakistani nationals and a policeman were among those killed in the gun attack, according to Pakistani and Omani officials. Authorities said 28 people of various nationalities were wounded, including security personnel.
