225 paramilitary forces, 60,000 security personnel: How Haryana gears up for Assembly polls on Oct 5

With just 3 days left for the assembly elections in the state, Haryana is gearing up for the polls on October 5 with tight security. 225 paramilitary companies and 60,000 security personnel have been deployed for the elections, officials told news agency ANI. As per the DGP Haryana, 11,000 SPOs (Special Police Officers) are also stationed ahead of the elections. Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapoor said that the highest amount of money was recovered in Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ambala in the state.

Jammu and Kashmir Elections 2024 Live Updates: Voting for the third and final phase of the assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir will begin shortly in which about 3.9 million voters will decide the fate of 415 candidates in the fray for 40 assembly segments across seven districts -- Jammu, Udhampur, Samba and Kathua in the Jammu region and Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara in north Kashmir. The polling will begin at 7 am and continue till 6 pm. This is the first Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution in August 2019, with the results set to be announced on October 8.

According to the information received, the incident occurred on Saturday evening as the train was en route to Howrah.
