A Vistara flight from Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai received a bomb threat on Friday (June 28), leading to a thorough search of the aircraft, the police said. A crew member had found a note saying ‘bomb on board’, an official of Sahar police said. The airline informed the police soon after landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai around 3.15 pm, he said.

Just four days ago, a portion of a newly constructed bridge over the Bakra river in Bihar collapsed in Araria district on Tuesday. There have been no reports of any fatality. The bridge, constructed by the Rural Works Department (RWD) at a cost of Rs 10 crore, was not opened to the public as approach roads were yet to be constructed. India on Thursday rejected a joint statement by China and Pakistan over Jammu and Kashmir during Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's recent visit to Beijing. The Ministry of External Affairs, in a statement released on Thursday, noted the joint declaration "unwarranted references to the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir". "We categorically reject such references. Our position on the issue is consistent and well-known to the concerned parties," MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
Pune Porsche crash case: The Juvenile Justice Board, on Wednesday, extended the remand of a 17-year-old boy in an observation home till June 25 in connection with the Pune Porsche crash case, said an official. After his arrest, the minor teen was remanded to the observation home for juveniles on May 22, and his remand ended on Wednesday, June 12. The Porsche car driven by the teenager, son of a builder, crashed into a motorbike in the early hours of May 19, killing IT professionals Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta in Kalyani Nagar. The teen was driving under the influence of alcohol, according to police.

Hunter Biden was found guilty of lying to a federally licensed gun dealer, making a false claim on the application form that he was not addicted to drugs and illegally possessing the firearm for 11 days.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a conclusive charge sheet against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and other implicated individuals in connection with the alleged land-for-jobs scam. This charge sheet encompasses 78 accused persons, which includes 38 candidates along with several other individuals. Moreover, the CBI has informed the court that it is still awaiting the sanction from the competent authority.

Mandya Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: Former CM Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy defeated Congress candidate Venkataramane Gowda in Mandya with a margin of over 2.86 lakh votes. Kumaraswamy polled 8,51,881 votes while Gowda secured 5,67,261 votes. Independent candidate Chandan Gowda trailed far behind in third place. Mandya is one of the key constituencies in the 28 Lok Sabha seats of Karnataka.
