Rajasthan bureaucratic reshuffle: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Rajasthan government has transferred a large number of senior officials, including 53 IAS and 24 IPS officers. The reshuffling also impacted the Indian Forest Service (IFS) and Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers, with 34 IFS and 113 RAS officers being reassigned to new positions. The state's Department of Personnel issued multiple orders late Friday night regarding these transfers. Notably, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma holds the charge of the Personnel Department, which oversaw the changes.
Legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar will be honoured with the CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the BCCI's awards night on Saturday (February 1) in Mumbai. The honour is certainly the most deserving as Tendulkar is the highest-ever run-scorer in Tests and ODIs having played a staggering 664 matches across formats for India. He is also the only player with 100 centuries in career (51 in ODIs and 49 in Tests) with Virat Kohli being the closest to him with 81 tons so far.
Economic Survey 2024-25: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the Economic Survey 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha. The Economic Survey 2024-25, tabled in both houses of Parliament, said the risk from higher commodity prices seems limited in FY26. It also said that the food inflation is likely to soften in Q4 FY25 with seasonal easing of vegetable prices and kharif harvest arrivals.
Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: The Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal today (January 31) launched a 'Bachat Patra' campaign in the national capital. "Today, we are launching a new campaign across Delhi. Our workers will go door-to-door and have people fill out the ‘Bachat Patra.’ We will sit with the families and calculate how much they benefit from AAP’s schemes," Kejriwal said while addressing a press conference. 
Addressing an interactive session at Delhi University's Hansraj College, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday described US President Donald Trump as an 'American nationalist', adding that India will have to conduct 'out of syllabus' foreign policy' in India's interest. He added that the US gave a good treatment when he was travelling to the country to attend Trump's swearing-in ceremony. Jaishankar added that India's relationship with the US is strong and PM Modi shares a good personal relationship with Trump.

The Supreme Court granted custody parole to AIMIM candidate and Delhi riots accused Tahir Hussain to campaign ahead of Delhi Assembly polls from January 29 to February 3. Hamas on Saturday released four Israeli soldiers held in Gaza as part of the ceasefire deal after it revealed the names of Israeli hostages earlier on Friday. The hostages have been freed in exchange for the release of dozens of Palestinians imprisoned or detained by Israel. The current release of hostages is part of the second swap of prisoners agreed upon in the Gaza ceasefire deal. It will also facilitate the release of 200 Palestinians held in Israeli jails.
The Mohan Yadav-led Madhya Pradesh government on Friday held a destination Cabinet meeting in Maheshwar. Following the meeting, Chief Minister Yadav addressed the media and informed them that liquor shops in 17 religious towns will be closed as soon as the new excise policy is implemented. Jalgaon train accident: An unfounded rumour turned a routine train journey into a nightmare in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district on Wednesday (January 22). The horrifying sequence of events unfolded at around 4:45 pm which led to the tragic deaths of 13 passengers aboard the Pushpak Express. The panic caused by a false fire alert resulted in passengers jumping off the moving train, only to be rammed by an oncoming high-speed Karnataka Express.
